Easy to color fun SW designs on heavy paper. Nice.

The illustrations are delightful, and could most likely be enjoyed by older children and adults alike. The designs are simple, but they do allow opportunity for blending colors, and creating very colorful works of art for many ages. I am not sure what age the artist had in mind when creating this book. I found it when I searched for a SW adult coloring book. If you are an adult that loves more detailed or very intricate designs you might choose to pass this one by. If; however, you are an adult that loves coloring in children's coloring books, adult coloring books, coloring with children or just love to color SW illustrations you will love this one. This would be a great book to use along side a history course of the Desert Southwest. Pros: 1. The designs: Fun and very Desert Southwest. Really cute with well defined lines. 2. Nice smooth, heavy white paper that works well for most any medium. 3. Markers and gel pens do not bleed through. 4. Good size book to grab and go. (8¼ x 8 13/16 x 3/16 inches) Can fit into a tote bag, backpack, large handbag/satchel and not too thick/heavy to just hand carry 5. Glossy covers thick enough to protect inner pages 6. Front cover picture included in coloring pages. 7. One picture per page. Printed on right side book pages 8. Flexible (glued ) spine that can be easily pressed down enough so pages stay flat for easy coloring and comfort. 9. Thin line borders around some page designs while others have several unique SW designs 10. Well spaced on page and none slide into the spine. 11. 40 full-page images including big-eyed owls, cayotes, roadrunners, armadillos, lots of cacti, thistles, birds, lizards and snakes. There is at least one dream-catcher, and several feathers and woven objects that might be reminiscent of the Four Corners area. 12. On the back of each large page design is a small drawing complementing the previous colored page. Nice. 13. The bottom of the coloring pages has the artist name and a space for the colorist's name. Cons: 1. Wet media caused the page to warp a smidge. i used Derwent Inktense 12 pencils and a wet micro-brush, and it caused some rippling on the backside of the paper. Edit: I originally stated the pages were not perforated. I was wrong. Upon very close inspection, I discovered they are micro-perforated. My blooper! What I used: Lolliz gel pens, Tombow dual brush pens, Aquarelle Dual Brush Colored pencils: Ohuhu, Prismacolor Premier, Prismacolor Scholar, Lelix, Colore, Rainbow pencils, Derwent Inktense 12

Beautiful & well thought out coloring book

Lovely coloring book! We love that the main design is only on one side with a smaller simple design on the back. That way, you don't have to decide which side to color. We will have a great time coloring these lovely images.

Absolutely Stunning!

The pictures in this book are off the hook beautiful!!! They aren't extremely intricate, but I don't remember a coloring book that is this beautiful! I have literally hundreds of coloring books, and this one takes first place for beauty. I can't wait to color in this book, but I am going to wait for when I have the time, uninterrupted, so that I can give it what it absolutely deserves. This book is printed on a gorgeous creamy colored paper, that is a heavenly weight for pencils and other media. It is a wonderful paper. Even though the pictures are printed single sided, I would put a piece of cardstock or other medium behind the page to prevent imprints and or bleeding. I would rate this coloring book for all levels of Colorists who love gorgeous scenery. Have a wonderful day and color on!

Favorite Coloring Book Ever!

I love, love, love this coloring book. During the height of the pandemic quarantine, I decided I wanted to get back into adult coloring books, and bought several. This is by far my favorite. I love the whimsical designs and subject matter. We spent the year in the Southwest (New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado) so this coloring book really spoke to me. The quality of the coloring book is excellent, really the best I've seen. I ended up purchasing another coloring book from this artist (which I actually don't like nearly as well - the designs are cute but I don't like the quality of the book itself as much) and also follow her on Instagram. I plan to purchase one of her prints for a home I'm redecorating soon. In any case, I don't think anyone would regret the purchase of this coloring book and I think it would make a fantastic gift for others during the upcoming holiday season.

I couldn't love this more!

Since I am a resident of New Mexico " The Land of Enchantment ", I totally love this great coloring book and was thrilled to find it on Amazon. I will use my best colored pencils with it. I want every page to be my best work. Designs are amazingly beautiful, well centered on one side of each page only. The paper is a good quality too. The artist has done a superb job and I count this as one of my very favorite coloring books!

Cute book, but could use some packaging

Very fun and cute book. Pretty good quality with pictures only printed on one side of the page. Pages are made to be torn out. I'd be careful with markers, they do bleed through a bit. The only real thing I'd criticize is the lack of packaging. Just having some plastic around the book might help it keep its shape. My book arrived very slightly damaged, the corners were a little bent/warped. Not enough to return or give a bad review over, but still kinda annoying considering the price of this book.

Hello Desert

Desert Dreams invites creatives of any age to put colors on. The designs smile out to ask for color. I love this book & the 5 star rating would be more effective with an image of some finished pages. In January when it's cold I will work in this book & smile.

Original interesting images

I've done several of the most popular coloring books and this was a nice change with original art work that reminded me of my trips to the southwest. After my last trip to Four Corners this was perfect. The colors I use are a bit more muted, but engage my imagination.

Good starter

I bought this coloring book because I live in Arizona. Its pictures are bigger and fairly basic but still fun. The paper is a good weight but I still put something behind because I color with gel pens and have a heavier hand. Fun book and really good if you need bigger pictures where there isn't a lot of very small or intricate pictures.
