Mua sẵn hến đã đãi vỏ về rửa lại, nhặt sạch những tạp chất nhỏ còn sót ở hến. Chuẩn bị sẵn gia vị: sả, gừng, củ hành tỏi băm nhỏ, rau răm cũng cắt nhỏ luôn.

Cho ít dầu vào chảo: cho sả + củ hành tỏi vào phi thơm vàng. Cho hến vào xào nêm gia vị và ớt sa tế + gừng. Hến thấm đều, nếm thử vừa khẩu vị. Cho đậu phộng + mè + rau răm (mỗi thứ chừa lại 1 ít), đảo đều tắt bếp.
